ROUND 4
[ Sunday sept 2 - 03:00pm - 05:00pm ]
Winrow/Eichneir again

After their last year victory, the English American team are the winners of this 15th race of the 12 Hours of Pont de Vaux.

As the pilots were on the pre grid, a big mistake was discovered, despite of being made according the classifications, the positions were made according the 3rd round. And then, suddenly the Race Office is invaded by some angry pilots who didn't accept that the 1st round was half an hour shortened because of the bad weather conditions. The start of the final round was finally given at 4.00 pm. Again, the n*1 started ahead followed very closely by Lassaigne, Van Der Laan and Abfalter. It's a real final fight between all those that could be potential winners. Pilots and machines were getting more and more tired, Alex Brusselers, unfortunately broke his steering gear and lose all hope of winning. A stupid incident happened to the Alexis moto raptor n*12, condensation water flows in the carburator. Frédéric Bof broke again the gear and for Sergio Gili, the hope to be well ranked, vanished after the break of his rear wheel bearing in the previous round. At last , just before 5.00 pm, the Audemar raptor of Joel Bontoux broke his engine. It's the end for the several time winner of the race. At the end of this serial misfortune, Lassaigne/Walter/Cole finished at one lap of the leaders but 3rd at the final claissification behind the very fast Lamet/Tusset/De Palma.

ROUND 3
[ Sunday sept 2 - 10:00am - 01:00pm ]

At last the sun is back on Pont de Vaux and this 3rd round starts at 10.30 for 3 hours with the pilots more decided to fight than ever.

Bontoux starts ahead closely followed by Lamet/Tusset/De Palma and Paul Winrow. Very quickly several teams stop at the pits for refuelling as the quads were parked in the closed area at the end of the previous round. It's the case of De Palma who despite his speed, is not in the top 30 at the end of the 1st lap. Because of the previous rainy conditions, the track is worsening. Even in the straight line, holes appeared and machines are suffering. Mechanics are very busy to repair the various breaks. Because of the break of one foot step which required 15 min to repair, Jean Michel Abfalter, lose all his hope. Same misfortune for Frédéric Bof who had to stop three times at the pits. They will be far behind the winners. Very bad luck for Young/Hughes/Wilson who broke their frame, it's the end. Winrow/Eichner are far ahead their followers however good fighters. Lassaigne works very hard with his teammates Walker and Cole. They finished after 3 hours at 1'18 after the winers before Rowlands/Mitchell/Reid. Very hard fight for victory between the 4 stroke Ventura and Bontoux .

ROUND 2
[ saturday sept 1 - 10:00pm - 01:00am ]
Cancelled

At 10.00 pm unfortunately because of the very bad riding conditions of the track, the organisation decided to cancel the night round..

ROUND 1
[saturday sept 1 - 03:00pm - 07:00pm]

At 3.00 pm, the director of the race gave the green light for the 1st start. Because of the track still very sweeping, the pilots have to be very careful when accelerating.

Last year winner Paul Winrow is followed by Joel Bontoux, Duncan Irons, Will Van der Laan and Jimmy Stevensen (USA). At the level of the chrono, only ten quads could pass trough. Then because of a big traffic jam, it took a long time before the 110 other machines could go through the bottleneck. At the end of the first lap, Paul Winrow has several laps before Joël Bontoux. With 120 quads on the track, there is very quickly a link between the 2 leaders.
The track of Pont de Vaux gets quickly dried : the pilots could use all the power of their machine. Just after a jump, the women team Patissier/Perret/Grange had a break on their quad. Alex Brusselers had not a very good start, but very quickly he confirmed his second practice rank, and reached the first place. Another spectacular result, Lamet/Tusset/De Palma (F) are in 3rd position with their 330 Honda Leager's behind Winrow/Eichner. Bontoux, as he was 4st with his 660 raptor gave his place to another pilot of his team. At the beginning of the 3rd hour, Winrow/Eichner are at the head, before Lamet/Tusset/De Palma. Brusselers/De Vries/Leroy, 3rd at 1 lap are now followed very closely by Lassaigne/Walker/Cole.
The rain is falling and the track is getting sweeping. At 6.30, after 3 hours and 30, the race manager decided to stop the first round .
